A Clinical Study of Clobetasol 17-propionate-Neomycin-Nystatin (Dermovate-NN) ointment

Abstract
Dermovate-NN ointment composed with Clobetasol 17-propionate 0.05%, Neomycin 0.5% and Nystatin 100,000 units/gram.
Clobetasol 17-propionate is a variant form of Betamethasone-valerate but was reported more therapeutic effect than Betamethasone 17-valerate 0. 1% ointment or Fluocinonide 0.05% cream, especially in psoriasis.
The present study was undertaken to evaluate the therapeutic effect of Dermovate-NN ointment in 63 patients with psoriasis (28 patients), eczematous dermatitis (22 patients), seborrheic dermatitis (3 patients), neurodermatitis (2 Patients), contact dermatitis (2 patients), atopic dermatitis (3 patients), and nummular dermatitis (3 patients).
The results were summarized as follows:
1. Among these 63 patients, we observed the cured response in 15 patients (23.8%), marked improvement in 38 patients (60. 3%), slight improvement in 8 patients (12.7%), and no change in 2 patients (3.2%) but none was aggravated.
2. In eczematous dermatitis, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis and nummular dermatitis, 79% of patients were responded within first 3 days. But clinical response appeared after 7-10 days in psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis and neurodermatitis.
3. None of them was not revealed the side effect during the clinical trial.
